Barbra Scheirer, APRN. PMHNP-BC
Nurse Practitioner Barbra Scheirer is originally from Bowie, Maryland but has called Las Vegas her home for the past 12 years. She began her lifelong medical career in high school when she joined the local volunteer Fire Department and received her Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. Serving her community on the fire station’s ambulance made her realize that she desired a career in Emergency Medicine. Barbra was hired by the Prince George’s County Fire Department as a Paramedic after graduating high school. PGFD is one of the country’s leading fire departments and Paramedics in the department were some of the busiest in the country during the 1990’s due to the proximity to Baltimore and Washington, DC. Ms. Scheirer continued to increase her medical training by attending the local community college and obtaining her degree as a Register Nurse (RN). Unfortunately Barbra suffered a career ending injury on an emergency call in 1998, which required her to medically retire. Instead of seeing this injury as a defeat, Barbra took the next step and began her 20 year career as an Emergency Room Nurse. Even after relocating to Las Vegas, Barbra continued her E.R. position at Saint Rose Hospital. When the opportunity presented itself, Barbra again returned to school and received her Master’s Degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Nevada State and Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. Barbra is board certified with the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has received her Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) training which enables her to assist patients with Opioid Use Disorder.
N.P. Barbra Scheirer has taken the bold step and chosen to open Mighty Mental Health in the desire of being able to give back to Las Vegas and help provide psychiatric and mental health care to her community. She looks forward to continuing to care for her established patients and ready to meet new patients who are seeking care.

Medication
Management
Psychiatric medications are invaluable in achieving recovery from mental illness and safe treatment of symptoms. Our practice offers comprehensive medication management delivered by board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. Our clinicians utilize a holistic approach that incorporates in depth knowledge of how pre-existing medical conditions can influence and trigger psychiatric symptoms. The decision to begin medication management is a combined effort between the Provider and the individual patient.
Therapist
Referrals
Our board certified Nurse Practitioners work with a select group of well experienced Licensed Therapists in the Las Vegas area. Depending on the patient’s symptoms and goals, the patient and the Provider will determine if therapy could offer solutions to the current situation. Therapy can include individual, group or family for adults and children. Finding the right Licensed Therapist for your individual needs is very important. The Therapy referrals available at Mighty Mental Health will ensure that every available tool is being utilized to help reach each patient’s goal.
ADHD Testing and
Treatment
Our office offers both in office and online ADHD Testing for both children and adults. Our board certified Nurse Practitioners are trained to administer the tests and discuss the results with the patients and family. Testing is a great tool for Providers to use to help determine the best treatment plan for all patients. Our office uses the state of the art software created by QbCheck to help diagnose and track our ADHD patients.
